Police in Benue State have arrested an estate agent who allegedly killed a final-year student at Benue State University, Makurdi.
According to a report, the student was killed by the agent after collecting the sum of N150, 000 to find an apartment for her.
Shagbaor Ugosor Japhet was apprehended after reportedly receiving N150,000 from the woman to find her an apartment,” the report revealed.
The lady, Erekaa Dooshimaa, a final year student of Benue State University Makurdi, went missing before her body was found with bloodstains at Brewery Quarters.
Detectives traced her killers after going through her bank account from which she transferred N150,000 to the suspect.
The suspect, who is an estate agent, was arrested and has confessed killing Dooshima, who gave her N150,00 to look for an apartment for her.
The suspect said that he used the money to stake a bet.
He added that he later called the 25-year-old lady and hacked her to death.
“When she arrived at the dark corner of the street where I called her to come I cut her with a machete several times leading to her death.
“After killing her, I took her body with her Iphone and dumped her body on the street to make it look like someone else killed her,” he confessed.
Unfortunately for Shagbaor, the POS machine Dooshima used to make the transfer to him was tracked and the suspect arrested.
Police said he will soon have his day in court.
