The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to the brutal murder of Toyin Bamidele, an HND I student at the Federal Polytechnic in Offa.
The grim discovery unfolded on Thursday when the lifeless body of the 20-year-old student was found in her apartment at the Dapson Extension area of Offa.
The police were alerted through the Divisional Police Headquarters, Offa, around 5:20 p.m. on November 16.
Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya, in a statement released on Sunday in Ilorin, disclosed that initial investigations at the crime scene revealed disturbing marks of violence on the victim’s face and neck.
The deceased was swiftly transported to Wale Clinic and Hospital, where a medical practitioner certified her dead.
The body now rests in the mortuary, awaiting an autopsy to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the young student’s tragic end.
The swift response of law enforcement led to the apprehension of a suspect connected to the case. The individual is currently assisting the police in their ongoing investigation.
