In a bid to encourage Adamawa State youths to aquire higher education, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, the state organising secretary of the All Progressive Congress, has awarded scholarships to 500 students schooling in the different tertiary institutions in the country.

While speaking during the ceremony on Sunday in the Yola-south Local Government Area, Ribadu said that the scholarship awards were part of the events highlighted to celebrate his 45th birthday anniversary.

He observed that due to hardship, many parents could not afford to send their children to school, as such, promised that the scholarship would continue every year as one of his contributions to the Adamawa State education sector.

Ribadu, who is incidentally the immediate younger brother to the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, also noted that President Bola Tinubu deserves applause from Nigerians and not criticisms.

He pointed out that the radical reforms going on under the present administration will improve the lives of Nigerians in a short period.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman, Yola-south Local Government Area, Alhaji Ahmadu Bingel, who commended the scholarship initiative of Ribadu, urged other party chieftains to emulate the scheme to end the out-of-school children saga in the state.

The party chieftain stressed that the scheme will compliment the efforts of the president to improve the education sector through the students’ loans and other schemes.

One of the beneficiaries, Usman Abubakar, hailed the initiative by Ribadu and called on other beneficiaries to take advantage of the scholarship to better their future.
