In a bold step towards strengthening the education sector, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated a modern classroom block and additional facilities at Ajegunle Junior High School, Owode-Onirin, Kosofe.
This development is part of a broader initiative that has seen the unveiling of 16 ultra-modern classroom blocks across secondary schools in the six education districts of Lagos.
The projects were made possible through the Special Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS), reinforcing the state government’s commitment to first-class educational infrastructure.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the critical role of education in driving socio-economic progress, stating that these initiatives align with the THEMES+ development agenda, which prioritizes education as a tool for economic empowerment and poverty reduction.
“Education is the cornerstone of our THEMES+ development agenda. It is the engine that propels economic growth, reduces inequality, and empowers individuals to break the cycle of poverty,” he said.
The governor also highlighted the long-term benefits of investing in schools, noting that quality education strengthens communities and prepares young people for a brighter future.
“By investing in our schools, we are investing in the fabric of our community’s future.”
With these newly commissioned facilities, the Lagos State Government continues to push for educational reforms that enhance learning environments, teacher effectiveness, and student performance.
The initiative also underscores the administration’s vision of making Lagos a hub for academic excellence and human capital development.
Governor Sanwo-Olu assured residents that his government will sustain efforts to upgrade public schools, provide modern learning tools, and create opportunities for students to excel in an ever-evolving world.
