Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has revealed a comprehensive plan during an interactive session with Student Union leaders and stakeholders in Lagos State.
Governor Sanwo-Olu announced a significant increase in scholarship and bursary funds specifically tailored for students of Lagos State origin enrolled in tertiary institutions.
Going beyond geographical boundaries, scholarships will now be extended to encompass less privileged and physically challenged students in public tertiary institutions, irrespective of their origin.
As a testament to his dedication to youth development, the governor took a bold step by appointing four former Students Union leaders as senior special assistants, ensuring that student voices are not only heard but also play a pivotal role in shaping policies.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized the importance of constructive engagement with students, seeking their feedback and suggestions to improve infrastructure in public institutions. This proactive approach aims to create a conducive environment that fosters optimal learning and growth.
He underscored the need to build a robust relationship between students, universities, and the government for a sustainable ecosystem and positive development.
This strategic initiative marks a significant leap towards fostering a more inclusive and supportive educational system in Lagos State.
