The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) has opened applications for its highly anticipated Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP) 2024. This fully-funded initiative, aimed at developing young West Africans into future leaders and scholars, provides participants with an opportunity to gain practical experience and enhance their skills in the civil society sector.

The six-month programme, running from July to December 2024, involves active participation in WACSI’s activities, providing exposure to leadership training, programme management, and critical development issues pertinent to West Africa.

Selected interns will receive comprehensive support throughout the programme. This includes fully covered airfare to and from their home country, furnished accommodation, lunch on working days, and a monthly stipend. In addition to these benefits, interns will gain invaluable experience and networking opportunities within WACSI’s extensive network of civil society professionals.

The programme is open to applicants from Ghana, Togo, and Mauritania who are seeking to enhance their civic consciousness and professional skills. Candidates must hold at least a first degree in international affairs, political science, public policy, law, development studies, or a related field. A demonstrated interest in civil society and non-profit organization management is also essential. Preference will be given to those with high proficiency in English, French, or Portuguese, along with a working knowledge of at least one other language.

Application process:
To apply, candidates must submit a completed application form, along with a copy of their degree certificate, a detailed curriculum vitae, and a personal statement outlining their motivation for joining the programme.
