Scientists in the early-to-mid-career category, policymakers, and managers from developing countries are invited to apply to participate in a training workshop scheduled to hold from November 11 to 22, 2013 in Sanya, Hainan Province, China.
The training workshop which is the brain-child of the CAS/TWAS Centre of Excellence on Space Technology for Disaster Mitigation, China, will feature experts from various institutions across the globe who will share their experiences in this increasingly important field.
According to the organizers, participation is limited to twenty (20) people and applications from female candidates will be given priority. Funding support for selected applicants includes round-trip airfares between their home countries and Sanya, as well as stipends to cover local expenses during the workshop. The advertised deadline to apply is September 10, 2013.
The CAS/TWAS Centre of Excellence on Space Technology for Disaster Mitigation is jointly sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). TWAS is a global science academy based in Trieste, Italy.
