LASU students begin parttime work, to get monthly pay

The Lagos State University Management in synergy with the University Students’ Union has employed over 80 students of the Lagos State University into the university library on part time basis. The students who were picked from hundreds of other applicants undergone a 4-day intensive training before commencing work on Saturday, 8th of July, 2017. The students are charged with the responsibilities of retrieving books with cards as well as retrieving books with sheets, amongst other duties. 

Speaking on the project, the University Librarian, Dr Oduwole Adebambo disclosed the project is just one of many the university management will embark on.

In his words : “I bring you greetings from our Vice Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun.  We, as the management of this university are committed to developing the employability skills and work experience of our world class students. We also want them to earn a substantial amount of money while they school here.”

 Similarly, Dr Adebambo while advising the students further added “I want you all to be at your best – in terms of dressing, dedication and maturity. We will retain the outstanding and exceptional ones among you. Although, I won’t tell you the criteria. Just keep doing your work, we are watching”.

The work-study project is in synergy with the Lagos State University Students’ Union and it will employ over 500 students at its peak. Most Importantly,the process for other similar opportunities will soon be announced to the student populace.
