The Sam Momah Foundation has contributed a state-of-the-art Reading and Conference Center to the University of Lagos College of Medicine. Named in honour of the late former Minister of Science and Technology, the foundation formally presented the facility to the institution during a ceremony held in Lagos on Tuesday.
During the ceremony, trustee Amaka Momah-Haruna underscored the foundation’s commitment to advancing education, particularly within the medical sphere, echoing the late minister’s advocacy for educational excellence.
She emphasized the foundation’s overarching objective to foster a culture of reading among Nigerian youth, with the establishment of reading rooms in federal universities across the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Wale Oke, the Provost of UNILAG’s College of Medicine, expressed profound gratitude for the generous contribution from the Sam Momah family.
He lauded the initiative as a pivotal investment in the future of medical education, foreseeing its significant role in driving groundbreaking discoveries and advancements in healthcare.
