NANS urges stronger security measures in schools

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) welcomes the safe return of the abducted students from Government Secondary School, Kuriga, Kaduna State, expressing gratitude for their rescue after enduring two weeks in captivity.

NANS President, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, commends the efforts of all involved in securing the release of the students.

In particular, Emonefe acknowledges President Bola Tinubu’s steadfast commitment and the collaborative support of service chiefs, the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Kaduna State Governor Sen. Uba Sani, and security agencies.

Their dedication played a pivotal role in ensuring the prompt rescue of the abducted students.

Stating the importance of prioritising security within educational institutions nationwide, NANS reaffirms the urgent need to bolster security measures to safeguard students’ safety and well-being.

The association urges relevant authorities to implement measures aimed at enhancing security personnel presence in schools, aiming to prevent similar incidents in the future.

NANS rejoices with the families of the rescued GSS Kuriga students, extending appreciation to all individuals and entities who contributed to their safe return home.
