The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is now accepting applications for its prestigious scholarship program for the 2023/2024 academic session.

This scholarship opportunity is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students studying at federal universities across Nigeria.

Benefits:
The PTDF scholarship provides substantial financial support to recipients. Undergraduate students receive N500,000 annually along with a laptop, with an initial amount of N625,000 in the first year. Postgraduate students receive N700,000 annually, also accompanied by a laptop. This funding is designed to ease the financial burden of tuition fees, books, and other educational expenses, allowing students to focus on their studies and research.

Eligibility:

Postgraduate candidates: A full-time admission letter from any federal university in Nigeria, a minimum of a Second-Class lower (2.2) degree in a relevant field, and a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate or letter of exemption are required. They must also provide a certificate of indigeneship and a personal statement of at least 1000 words for master’s applicants or a PhD research proposal relevant to the oil and gas industry.

Undergraduate: Candidates must be full-time students in their second year at a federal university, studying a course related to the oil and gas sector. They need to have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 on a scale of 5 or equivalent and must present their first-year transcripts.

Required documentation:
Applicants must scan and attach various documents to their online applications. These include WAEC/SSCE/NECO results, university admission letters, and academic transcripts. Postgraduate applicants also need to provide their first-degree certificates, NYSC certificates, and personal statements. PhD applicants must submit their second-degree certificates and research proposals.

Application process:
Applicants need to create or log into an account on the scholarship portal, verify their email addresses and National Identification Numbers (NIN), and complete the application form with the required documents. It is crucial to ensure that all uploaded files meet the specified formats to avoid errors during submission.

Application deadline: June 24, 2024.
