The Oyo State government has announced the opening of a job portal to recruit 7,000 primary school teachers and 100 caregivers.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), will begin accepting applications from 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.
During a briefing at the Board’s headquarters, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of SUBEB, highlighted the state government’s commitment to expanding job opportunities in the education sector.
“Education is a major pillar of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration,” said Adeniran. “We are committed to an inclusive government that will harness the valuable potentials within the State, which is why we are hiring new primary school teachers.”
The recruitment portal, accessible at subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng, http://subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng, will remain open until July 9, 2024.
Applicants are required to register using their email, phone number, and National Identification Number (NIN), among other details.
The process aims to ensure a transparent, fair, credible, and merit-based selection.
Adeniran detailed the three-stage application process, which includes an online application, a Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination, and an oral interview. He also provided assurances that support services would be available for applicants encountering issues, with contact options listed on the portal.
In his address, Adeniran warned potential applicants to beware of scammers and reiterated that the official portal is the only legitimate site for job applications.
“The entire application process is free of charge, and no staff or non-staff member is authorised to collect money from any applicant,” he emphasised.
This significant recruitment drive underscores the Oyo State Government’s dedication to reducing unemployment and enhancing the quality of education by investing in human resources.
