The University of Melbourne has announced the 2025 Dorcas McClean Scholarship, offering up to $40,000 to support candidates seeking admission to an approved institution.
This scholarship aims to assist young violinists aged 17 to 25 who have been residents of Australia for at least two years before the competition date.

The scholarship winner will receive a one-time payment of up to $40,000 to support their studies at an approved institution. Additionally, the second and third place participants will receive $10,000 and $5,000 respectively. Shortlisted applicants will also receive a set reimbursement to cover competition-related costs, ensuring that financial barriers do not impede their participation.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be violinists between the ages of 17 and 25 as of February 2, 2025. They should have been residents of Australia for at least two years by the competition date. Eligible candidates include those admitted to a course of study at an institution approved by the Academic Board, those under the supervision of an approved teacher, or graduates and undergraduates of the University of Melbourne.
