The Ondo State government has announced a strategic partnership with Teesas Education, a leading education technology (EdTech) firm. The initiative aims to leverage innovative solutions to transform the learning experience for students across the state.

The announcement was made by Olaolu Akindolire, the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, during a meeting with Teesas Education’s management team in Akure, the state capital.

Akindolire stressed the administration commitment, under Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa, to revitalize the education sector and ensure that students receive high-quality, qualitative education.

He stated, “We are open to collaborations with any private sector entity that genuinely seeks to add value to teaching and learning in Ondo State.” This collaborative spirit reflects the administration’s proactive approach to tackling educational challenges and improving student outcomes.

Teesas Education founder and chairman, Mr. Osayi Izedonmwen, outlined the potential benefits of the partnership, highlighting the introduction of a self-funded educational solution that will unlock donor funding aimed at transforming state-owned secondary schools.

He emphasized that the collaboration would implement a fully integrated Education Management System (EMS) equipped with curriculum-aligned digital content such as videos and e-books.

Izedonmwen elaborated, “The EMS is designed to ensure consistent lesson delivery, foster increased interactivity in classrooms, and enhance accountability among teachers and students, ultimately leading to improved learning outcomes.” The system will standardize lesson plans, enabling teachers to access them via tablets, which will also be provided to both teachers and students.

The EMS will allow teachers to log in, manage class timetables, record attendance, and utilize scripted lessons. Students will benefit from receiving lesson notes on their tablets, allowing them to continue their learning journey through the Teesas Education App, whether in school or at home.

The system also offers real-time insights into classroom dynamics, enabling stakeholders to track teacher attendance and student presence. At the end of each academic year, schools will be able to analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement based on attendance and quiz results.
