Fountain University, Osogbo, will celebrate the graduation of 346 students at its 14th convocation ceremony on Tuesday.
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Dimeji Bankole, will deliver the convocation lecture, with Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, chairing the event.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Ramota Karim announced that 316 graduates will receive first degrees, 27 will be awarded postgraduate degrees, and three will earn diplomas. Among the first-degree recipients, 16 students achieved First-Class Honors, while others earned distinctions across various classifications.
This convocation also marks the first graduation of students from the B.N.Sc. Nursing Science and BMLS Medical Laboratory Science programs, with two nursing graduates achieving distinctions. Prof. Karim highlighted the university’s commitment to community development, noting the provision of a motorized borehole to the Oke Baale Police Division to improve access to clean water.
In addition to academic achievements, the university’s Law program received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission, and seven new courses gained approval. “This academic year has been particularly remarkable, with our pioneer students in Nursing and Medical Laboratory Sciences achieving a 100% pass rate in their professional exams,” Prof. Karim said, emphasizing the university’s growing reputation for excellence in education.
