Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the recruitment of 1,100 teachers by the State Universal Basic Education Board (ODSUBEB).

This approval follows the completion of the recruitment process by the board.

The state government had recently employed 1,010 new teachers for public secondary schools.

A statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, noted that the latest recruitment brings the total number of newly employed teachers in the state to 2,110.

Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the acute shortage of teaching staff in public schools across the state.

Reacting to the development, the Executive Chairman of ODSUBEB, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, expressed appreciation to the governor for approving the recruitment, stating that it would help bridge the gap created by retiring educators.

Olabimtan emphasized that the employment of more teachers would significantly improve the pupil-teacher ratio in public primary schools and enhance the quality of education, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas. He also commended the Aiyedatiwa administration for its remarkable achievements in the education sector.

Similarly, in a statement, the Director of Information and Public Relations at ODSUBEB, Bolu Ajijo, described the governor’s approval as a strategic move to fill critical vacancies in public primary schools across the state.

Ajijo added that details on how successful applicants can check their names and begin the documentation process will be made public soon.
