The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Presidential Precinct have announced the Global Rule of Law Initiative 2024, a prestigious and fully funded professional exchange program aimed at enhancing global judicial systems.

This initiative offers a unique opportunity for judges and magistrates worldwide to participate in a two-week immersive educational experience in Washington, DC, and Virginia in October 2024.

Benefits:
Participants in the program will benefit from comprehensive training that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills. The initiative includes collaboration with renowned institutions such as the National Center for State Courts, James Madison’s Montpelier, and academic partners at William & Mary and the University of Virginia. This structured environment is designed to foster critical thinking and strengthen the participants’ capabilities in promoting the rule of law in their respective countries.

Eligibility:
Eligibility for the Global Rule of Law Initiative is targeted at early- to mid-career judges and magistrates from Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Americas. Applicants must have five to seven years of experience in presiding over civil or criminal cases, exhibit a strong commitment to integrity, ethical conduct, and leadership, and possess excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency in English is also required.

Application process:
The application period is open from May 24, 2024, to July 1, 2024. Prospective applicants must submit their applications within this timeframe. Successful candidates will be notified of their selection status by July 15, 2024. Interested judges and magistrates can apply through the designated application portal.
