The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has officially handed over the Faculty of Engineering and the postgraduate school hostel to the University of Abuja.
These two buildings mark a major milestone among the six projects initiated by the bank on the university campus back in 2014.
With the completion of the Medical Students Hostel in Gwagwalada, the university has successfully gained ownership of three out of the six projects originally planned.
This achievement is a testament to the commitment of both the university and the central bank in enhancing educational infrastructure.
During the handover ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, expressed his enthusiasm about the generous gesture made by the Central Bank.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Philip Afaha, Na’Allah highlighted the university’s excitement and gratitude while urging the bank to expedite the completion of the remaining projects.
He emphasised the collective anticipation for the future handovers and remarked, “We all look forward to receiving them sooner rather than later.”
The outstanding projects that are yet to be completed include the ICT Centre, the Faculty of Science building and the postgraduate school complex.
The university community eagerly anticipates the fulfillment of these initiatives, which are poised to further elevate the institution’s academic and research capabilities.
