EducationUSA Nigeria is set to open doors to a world of academic possibilities with its 23rd annual EducationUSA College Fair, scheduled to take place from September 17 to 19 in the bustling cities of Abuja and Lagos.
This eagerly anticipated event will provide an opportunity for Nigerian students aspiring to expand their educational horizons in the United States.
The College Fair promises a unique opportunity for prospective students to engage directly with international admissions officers from 50 prestigious U.S. colleges and universities.
Among the illustrious institutions participating are Harvard University, Columbia University, The George Washington University, Tulane University, and Spelman College. These universities exemplify the geographical and academic diversity of U.S. higher education, offering a wide array of programs at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
Attendees of the fair will have the chance to converse with international admissions officers, receive guidance from EducationUSA advisers, and engage with U.S. Embassy representatives. Key topics of discussion will include educational opportunities, the student visa application process, financial aid, as well as insights into the cultural experience of studying and living in the United States.
“The United States has renowned higher education programs and remains the destination of choice for international students,” U.S. Mission Public Diplomacy Counselor Lee McManis noted. “The upcoming EducationUSA college fair is a great way to explore the amazing educational opportunities that the United States has to offer.”
Nigeria continues to lead Africa in sending students to American colleges and universities, ranking as the seventh largest source of international students to the United States globally. In the 2022-2023 academic year alone, more than 17,000 Nigerian students pursued their graduate and undergraduate studies in the U.S., marking a record-breaking milestone.
The College Fair will kick off in Abuja on September 17 at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, proceed to Lagos on September 18 at the Ecobank Pan African Center, Victoria Island, and conclude on September 19 at Pistis Hub, Maryland. While participation is free, registration is mandatory.
