eStars, a pioneering eSports education provider, has joined forces with Chrisland Schools to integrate eSports into the curriculum.

This visionary partnership promises to usher in a new era of learning, blending traditional education with the immersive world of eSports.

Margs Byrne, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of eStars, expressed her optimism about the collaboration, highlighting the potential for mutual benefits and long-lasting impacts.

She emphasised that this partnership would activate the transformative potential of eSports for students not only in Nigeria but across the entire African continent.

“The overwhelming response to the pilot scheme at Chrisland Schools reaffirmed our belief in the transformative potential of eSports in the classroom,” stated Byrne, underlining the positive reception and enthusiasm generated during the initial stages of this initiative.

This groundbreaking partnership sets a precedent for educational institutions across Africa and beyond to embrace global best practices by introducing eSports as a vehicle for learning and skills development.

Ibironke Adeyemi, the managing director of Chrisland Schools, emphasised the potential of combining eSports and education to create new realms of engagement and learning for students.

“We are excited to be the first school group in Africa to embark on this path of educational innovation with eStars. Our commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment that resonates with our students’ interests and aspirations informed this partnership,” said Adeyemi.

Joel Popoola, chairman of the Institute of Directors Africa Group and the driving force behind eStars’ expansion across Africa, provided valuable insights into the educational value of eSports.

He acknowledged that certain computer games embedded genuine educational value in subjects such as mathematics, sciences, and information technology.

Popoola stated, “By centering learning around gaming activities, eStars have stimulated a unique interest in children to engage technology in their learning.”

He further explained that this partnership aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision to create one million jobs in the digital economy, as it empowers students with the skills required to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

eStars is committed to harnessing the power of eSports to offer students a unique and engaging learning experience.

Their approach encourages the development of essential skills such as teamwork, creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving through eSports.

The organisation provides a range of eSports services to educational bodies, including after-school clubs, the design and construction of eSports classrooms, and the delivery of formal qualifications in eSports.

As this visionary partnership between eStars and Chrisland Schools unfolds, it holds the promise of reshaping education in Africa and empowering students with the skills needed to succeed in the digital age.

This collaborative effort exemplifies the potential of eSports to revolutionize learning, enriching the educational experience for students across the continent.
