The University of Jos, popularly known as UNIJOS, is one of Nigeria’s prestigious federal universities located in Jos, the capital city of Plateau State. Established in 1975, UNIJOS has grown into a centre of academic excellence, offering a diverse range of programmes and contributing significantly to research and innovation in Nigeria. 1. UNIJOS initially started as a satellite campus of the University of Ibadan in 1971.

2. By 1975, it became a fully autonomous university, with Professor E.A. Ayandele serving as its first acting principal.
