The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy has kickstarted the recruitment process for teachers participating in its groundbreaking Build-A-Thon initiative.
Launched in December, this programme seeks to instill early-technology adoption among senior secondary students, with a four-day event scheduled for January 2024.
The Minister of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, revealed that the initiative will host 1,500 students from 150 schools in Owerri, Maiduguri, and Abeokuta.
The call for applications from prospective teachers was officially announced on Thursday via a press release.
The ministry emphasized that it is seeking visionary educators, teachers, and technology enthusiasts who can guide the next generation of tech innovators in secondary schools.
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply through a dedicated website.
Minister Tijani expressed, “The Build-A-Thon initiative is part of our strategic plan to promote early-technology adoption to shape tomorrow’s innovation leaders.”
He outlined the program’s overarching goals, which include showcasing innovative projects, recognizing achievements, fostering future collaboration, inspiring future leaders, and promoting lifelong learning.
