Aspira Nigeria Limited has donated a fully-furnished laundromat to Lagos State University (LASU).
This is part of the organisation’s corporate social responsibility aimed at making life better for people and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with authorities at the institution.
A laundromat is a self-service laundry, or a facility where clothes are washed and dried without much personalised professional assistance.
Speaking at the inauguration of the facility, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, reiterated the resolve of her administration to continue to provide modern facilities and amenities on campus.
This, she said, would not only boost performance levels, but ensure staff and students reach their full potential.
The VC urged staff and students to use the facility effectively.
She noted that the fully fitted facility would reduce stress, boost entrepreneurship, engender support while bringing convenience to the school community. Olatunji-Bello stressed the need for partnerships in institutions to create more of such projects noting that the laundromat was built following the signing of an MoU with the firm.
Permanent Secretary Ministry of Tertiary Education, Adeniran Kasali who was represented by a Director in the office, Bunmi Ibidapo-Obe, thanked the organisation for providing the facility which would enhance the quality of life, promote hygiene and provide employment for people, while urging staff and students to utilize it very well.
