In response to Mmesoma Joy Ejikeme’s admission of fabricating her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has issued “a directive for her to receive counseling from the State Guidance Counselor.”

This information was conveyed in a statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Ministry of Education, Nnaemeka Egwuonwu, and subsequently shared with Channels Television.

According to the statement, Governor Soludo’s letter to the Principal of Anglican Girls Secondary School Nnewi included instructions for immediate psychological counseling and therapy sessions to be initiated for Mmesoma.

The governor, through a letter signed by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, also mandated that Mmesoma be placed under the care of a professor specialising in Clinical Psychology.

This directive aligns with one of the recommendations put forth by the Committee established by the Anambra State Government to investigate the incident.

The revelation of the fraudulent results had stirred public interest, controversy, and skepticism.
