The Kaduna State Ministry of Education has announced a modification to the scheduled school resumption date for the 2023–2024 academic session.
The new resumption date is set for September 24, 2023.
This significant adjustment was announced through a statement issued by Halliru Musa Soba, the permanent secretary at the ministry of education, acting on behalf of the commissioner for education.
The statement, released on September 9, 2023, cited the need for stakeholders within the education sector to be informed and prepared for the change.
The statement specifically called upon various parties, including school administrators, proprietors, parents, guardians, and all relevant stakeholders, to take note of the revised resumption date.
Soba urged total adherence to the new schedule and assured that an updated academic calendar reflecting this change would be made available in due course.
The decision to alter the school resumption date comes as part of ongoing efforts by the Kaduna State ministry of education to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff within the educational system.
It is also in line with the government’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment amid evolving circumstances.
“Parents and guardians are advised to make necessary preparations for their children’s return to school on the new date, September 24, 2023.
“Schools across the state are expected to make the required adjustments to accommodate the revised academic calendar,” Soba urged.
This change in the resumption date for the 2023–2024 academic session underscores the flexibility and responsiveness of the Kaduna State Ministry of Education in addressing the unique challenges posed by the ever-changing educational landscape.
Further updates and details regarding the academic calendar adjustment are anticipated in the coming days.
