Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo, has reaffirmed his commitment to the development of education in the state, as he inaugurated an Islamiyya primary school in his hometown in the Gwarzo Local Government Area.
The school, Hajiya Talle Muhyiddeen Islamiyyah Primary School, was named in honour of his mother, Hajia Talle.
The ceremony was attended by the management, staff and students of the school as well as community members.
In a statement by his Press Secretary, Ibrahim Shu’aibu, obtained by newsmen on Thursday, Gwarzo said the school aimed to provide students with a strong foundation in Islamic knowledge, including Qur’anic studies, moral values, and life skills to prepare them for future challenges.
Gwarzo promised to work closely with the school management to address its needs and ensure its growth and sustainability.
He expressed hope that students of the school would excel academically and participate in state, national, and international Qur’anic competitions, reflecting the institution’s quality and impact.
“You know the administration of Governor Abba Yusuf prioritises education. This is why it allocated 31 per cent of the total budget to education,” he said.
Gwarzo delivered the governor’s message of appreciation to the stakeholders and management of the school for their dedication to the advancement and sustainability of the institution.
He called on elected local government chairmen and councillors to remain close to their communities, engage with the people and understand their needs.
