The wife of Kebbi state governor, and founder NASARA foundation, Hajiya Zainab Nasir Idris, has donated books, Sanitary pads and a token to some selected girls schools in the state in continuation of her initiative to encourage girls to remain in school.
The first lady represented by her daughter, Hajiya Balkisu Nasir Idris said that the donation is under the Nasara foundation with a particular focus on the girl child, and the vulnerable ones in the society who needs a support to become what they want to be in life but are being held back by some societal problems.
According to her, the donations of books, sanitary pads and cash will help to felicitate education drive of the girl child in school “I want you girls to know that all of you can reach your potentials in life hence the reason we come here to give you a little aid to help boost your morale” she said.
She further said many girls were denied education due to early marriage and lack of support to pursue their goals from the basics but the foundation is always ready to support the girl child to attain their educational goal.she assured.

Earlier in her welcome remarks, the state commissioner ministry for Basic and Secondary School education, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry Abubakar Magaji Nayalwa appreciated the wife of the governor for her gesture and her untiring efforts on girl child support on education he said the donation will go a long way in boosting the morale of the students he prayed to God to continue to give her the wisdom to continue the good job.
In her remarks, the principal of Salamatu Hussaini girls day secondary school where the programme was held, Hajiya Aisha Adamu described Kebbi first lady as mother of the orphans, the poor and the less privilege in the society she thanked her most profoundly for selecting her school as one of the beneficiaries of the very important donation.
Shortly after the Salamatu Hussaini programme, the team moved to Unity girls college in Birnin Kebbi where packs of books, , sanitary pads and a cash token was also donated to students of the school amid cheers and fanfare from students and teachers of the school.
Earlier, the principal of unity girl s secondary college Birnin Kebbi,hajia Murjanatu Attahiru wala visibly excited thanked the first lady for the gestures describing it as timely and unprecedented in the history of the school.
