Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has allocated 16.2% of the 2025 budget to education, emphasizing the importance of strengthening existing institutions and launching new projects to enhance learning opportunities across the state.
During the presentation of the N540.3 billion appropriation bill, the governor reiterated the administration commitment to completing ongoing educational projects and initiating new ones.
The focus includes getting the new University of Education off the ground and strengthening existing institutions to improve educational standards and accessibility.
Governor Abdulrazaq noted that the state funded education for 66,000 entrance exam candidates, 58,420 BECE candidates, 28,500 WAEC candidates, and 27,000 NECO candidates. The governor reiterated that these investments reflect the administration’s dedication to improving educational outcomes and providing support for students across all levels.
The Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, praised the government’s transparency and commitment to the completion of educational projects. He assured swift but thorough review of the budget proposal to ensure educational goals are achieved efficiently.
