The Lagos State Government has officially commenced the electronic registration process for the Year 2025 Entrance Examination into its prestigious Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools, targeting primary six pupils transitioning into junior secondary education.
In a formal announcement, the Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, confirmed the registration schedule, noting, “The e-Registration will commence on Thursday, 6th February and ends on Friday, 16th May, 2025.” He further revealed that the screening test would be conducted strictly via Computer-Based Test (CBT) between Wednesday, 28th May and Friday, 30th May, 2025, across designated CBT centers within the state.
According to Mr. Orunsolu, the examination is open to eligible primary six pupils from both public and private schools. He emphasized that “qualified pupils are to pay a sum of ₦10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) for the application.”
The registration process is fully digital, with applications to be submitted through the Examinations Board Portal at https://pay.examboard.com.ng/model/payment/login.
Highlighting the importance of the entrance exam, Orunsolu stated, “The Screening Test is the sole yardstick for admission into JSS1 in any of the State Model Colleges.”
He encouraged interested candidates and their parents or guardians to seek further clarification or assistance by visiting the Board’s Head Office at 254, Ipaja Road, near N.Y.S.C Orientation Camp, Agege.
The initiative marks another significant step in Lagos State’s ongoing efforts to digitalize and standardize its educational assessment processes, ensuring transparency and accessibility for all eligible pupils across the state.
