The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in next month’s election in Ondo State, Chief Sola Ebiseni has promised to provide free and qualitative education if elected governor in next month’s polls.
Ebiseni who led the party’s campaign to various communities, motorparks and markets in Akure, promised to rebuild the Akure spare parts market.
The LP candidate was accompanied by his running mate, Dayo Awude, youths, women and top party chieftains and supporters.
The candidate reminded the people about programmes and projects that had a positive impact on the people during the LP’s administration under Dr Olusegun Mimiko.
He listed the programmes and projects to include free education, payment of WAEC fees for final year students, provision of free buses for movement of students to and from schools throughout the state, and free health services, including free delivery of women in the Mother and Child Hospitals in the state.
At the motor spare parts market at Ilesha garage, he reminded the Igbo-speaking traders there about the solidarity with the Igbo Presidency by the Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-political organisation where he serves as secretary-general.
He said: “I will prioritise security by ensuring safe returns of farmers to their farms. Ondo State has a comparative advantage in the abundance of coastal and forest resources, including minerals dotting the state’s landscape. From day one of our administration no child of school age will be out of school while tertiary education will be greatly subsidized.”
During the campaign, some women testified that they were saved from maternal death by free delivery at the Mother and Child Hospital during Mimiko’s administration.
