The National Examinations Council (NECO) has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative to modernise the recruitment process for examination supervisors and assistant supervisors for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), transitioning from traditional methods to a digital platform.
This transformation, according to NECO, aims at curbing malpractices in the recruitment process while enhancing efficiency and the overall quality of service delivery.
In a recent statement issued by Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Information and Digital Communication at NECO, the council announced the implementation of a digitalised system that will replace the manual recruitment process for supervisors and assistant supervisors.
“The new online system will streamline operations by generating supervisors’ nomination forms, appointment letters, and supervisors’ e-photo albums digitally,” he said.
He stated further that the routine swapping of supervisors and assistant supervisors during examinations will now be facilitated through this online platform, ensuring smoother coordination and management of personnel.
Qualified and interested teachers holding certifications such as NCE, Degree, Master’s Degree, or PhD are encouraged to apply for positions as Supervisors or Assistant Supervisors for either BECE or SSCE (Internal or External) under this new digitalised scheme.
