Nigerian development expert, named Dublin Business school lecturer of the Year

A 39-year-old development expert, researcher, and entrepreneur Alexander Victor, has been awarded the esteemed Lecturer of the Year title at Dublin Business School in Ireland.

The announcement was met with enthusiastic applause from colleagues and well-wishers during the ceremony held on March 30th, 2024.

Victor’s recognition comes as a result of his exceptional academic background and significant professional achievements. Holding dual PhD degrees—one in Applied Mathematics from NSUK, Nigeria, and another in Financial Mathematics from PAUSTI, Kenya—Victor has also earned three Master’s degrees.

He obtained one in Applied Mathematics and another in Financial Mathematics from the University of Abuja, Nigeria, and completed a Master of Science in Financial Engineering at WorldQuant University, USA.

With over 12 years of experience in his field, the Edo-born scholar has occupied leadership roles in various organizations.

Notably, he served as a project/research lead at Schemas Group and earlier worked as a research fellow/econometrician on projects sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the MasterCard Foundation at LBS – Pan Atlantic University, Nigeria.

Currently, Victor is engaged in cutting-edge research at Dublin City University, focusing on advancing financial time series using deep generative adversary networks—an area poised to make significant contributions to financial analytics and risk management.

Before his tenure in Ireland, Victor imparted his knowledge as a senior lecturer in Actuarial Science at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agricultural Technology, specializing in financial risk management and advanced financial mathematics.

Alexander Victor’s exceptional academic journey and commitment to advancing his field have garnered him well-deserved recognition on an international platform.

His achievements serve as a testament to the caliber of talent emerging from Africa’s academic landscape, inspiring future generations of scholars and educators.
