Nigerian professor receives ‘Brilliance in Education Award’

Nigerian professor, Akintunde Ajagbe, has been granted the prestigious ‘Brilliance in Education Award’ by the Global Heal Awards.

This commendation was bestowed upon him during the organisation’s inaugural commencement ceremony held from July 28th to July 30th, 2023 at the Marriot Airport Hotels in Tampa, Florida, USA.

The award, according to the organisation, highlights his exceptional contributions to the field of education.

The Global Heal Awards, known for celebrating outstanding achievements across various sectors, recognised Ajagbe for his remarkable dedication to education, research, and mentoring of scholars.

The assessment criteria for the award, as outlined in a letter by events manager Sidhartha Kapil, “encompassed impact, innovation, scalability, and leadership, with each nominee meticulously evaluated against these parameters.”

Following comprehensive research and analysis, Ajagbe emerged as a deserving recipient.

Ajagbe’s illustrious career spans over 26 years, bridging both industry and academia, both within Nigeria and internationally.

He holds a Ph.D. in technology management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, a top-tier Malaysian institution.

His academic journey took him to Covenant University, Nigeria, where he assumed the role of Assistant Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship post-Ph.D.

In 2016, he was recruited as a Senior Lecturer at Ritman University, Nigeria, where he not only led the Department of Business Management but also directed the Office of Research and Innovation.

Demonstrating his global influence, Ajagbe has held Adjunct Professor positions at esteemed institutions including Durban University of Technology in South Africa, Gambia University GTTI in the Republic of Gambia, ICT University Cameroon, and POMA International Business University in the Republic of Benin.

Currently, he is honoured to serve as a professor of technology management at Rudolph Kwanue University.

Ajagbe’s impact is not only felt through his myriad roles but also through his extensive academic contributions.

He has authored over 100 articles that have been published in international journals, conferences, book chapters, and even a textbook.

These scholarly works have garnered substantial recognition, as evidenced by citations exceeding 2500 on Google Scholar, a testament to their global significance.

As a keynote speaker at the event, Ajagbe shared insights into the challenges plaguing modern education systems and proposed viable solutions.

His candid discussion highlighted the adverse effects of technology integration on education, offering valuable recommendations for policymakers, implementers, parents, and guardians.

Currently serving as the President of Maryland Publishing and Research Institute Inc in the USA, Ajagbe continues to be a trailblazer in the realm of education.

The ‘Brilliance in Education Award’ stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to advancing education, research, and the holistic development of scholars.
