In a milestone for academic excellence, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has successfully concluded the accreditation of 18 academic programmes at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The extensive evaluation, which began a month ago, culminated in an exit meeting on December 18, 2024.
The programmes assessed included a range of science and engineering disciplines such as Mathematics, Food Science and Technology, Civil Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, and Veterinary Medicine, among others.
This marks a significant step in maintaining and enhancing the university’s academic standards.
At the exit meeting, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, praised the NUC team for their thorough evaluation and commitment.
He stated, “We appreciate the dedication of the NUC Team and the importance of peer reviews in sustaining high academic standards.” He further assured that the university would “address all observations and recommendations.”
FUNAAB commitment to fostering a strong learning environment was reiterated, with an emphasis on collaboration during such accreditation exercises.
Prof. Olajide Sogunle, Director of the Directorate of Academic Planning, extended his gratitude to all stakeholders, saying: “We appreciate everyone’s contributions to the successful hosting of the NUC Team and their efforts in ensuring a productive accreditation process.
