An House of Representatives aspirant in Ibadan North Federal Constituency under All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Olamide Balikis Junaid, has sponsored JAMB registration for over 1,000 indigent students in the constituency.
She said the step was to give opportunity to the students willing to further their education but are constrained by funds to fulfill their dream in life.
Speaking in Ibadan while handling the scholarship to beneficiaries at a program tagged: “Olamide Balikis Junaid Foundation Edu-Support Initiative Free JAMB Forms”, the aspirant, who was represented by the Director General, Olamide Junaid Foundation, Abubakar Abdul, stated that it has been part of the founder of the foundation, Olamide Junaid to always touch lives of the masses even before she joinned politics.
According to him, the foundation has been touching lives of less privileged, poor and needy in the society not only in Ibadan but across the nation.
He maintained that Junaid is the best person for Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat considering her pedigree and antecedents, adding that she will do more if eventually get the party ticket and wins.
He urged beneficiaries to see education as the pathway to success in life, and also contribute their own quota towards the development of the nation.
The APC chairman in Ibadan North Local Government, Alhaji Taofeek Olaiwola lauded the initiative of Junaid, adding that she has proved to be a good stewart of the party and helper of the helpless in the society.
He said: “Junaid is not doing it because she is veying for the post, she has been doing it all this while, I want to advice her not to relent in the good deed of her foundation, her chance is getting brighter on her aspiration and what she is doing for the masses will be on her favour when its time for the party to pick the candidate.”
The APC youth leader in Ibadan North Local Government, Aliu Babatunde said with the scholarship, Junaid has alleviated suffering of the beneficiaries, saying youths in the party are fully in her support.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the gesture of Junaid, saying the scholarship will go a long way in assisting their education pursuits.
