The Oyo State government has praised Abiodun Regina Nwagbo, an agricultural science teacher at Mother’s Joy College in Ibadan, for winning the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year (MToY) Award.
At a reception in Ibadan on Monday, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, commended Nwagbo’s dedication and described her as a model for other educators.
“Oyo State is proud of you,” Prof. Adelabu stated. “Your dedication and enthusiasm for your work have paid off, as has your refusal to wait for approval before acting morally. It has brought you honor, prosperity, and recognition.” He encouraged other teachers to follow Nwagbo’s example, acknowledging her as a “shining star” for the state’s educational sector.
Nwagbo expressed gratitude to the Oyo State government, her school principal, and the Nigerian Breweries Plc for the recognition, saying the award motivates her to continue her efforts in the field.
The Maltina Teacher of the Year Award, an initiative of Nigerian Breweries Plc, celebrates outstanding teachers across Nigeria, reinforcing the importance of dedication and passion in the teaching profession.
