The Limpopo Department of Education has urged Grade 12 students to seek emotional support as they await the release of their 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) results. Scheduled for January 13, 2025, the announcement will be followed by provincial celebrations of top achievers on January 14.

Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya reassured students of the department’s commitment to their well-being while emphasizing a goal to improve the provincial pass rate from 79% in 2023 to 80% this year.

“I want to say to our class of 2024, hang in there. You have invested so much studying, energy, focus—everything—in writing your exams. This is just the last few days as we await the release of the results. Talk to each other, talk to your parents about your anxiety. There is no need to panic,” she said.

The 2024 NSC examinations concluded on November 28, 2024, with results set to be accessible online and at schools from January 14. The Department of Basic Education also provided guidance for students encountering technical issues or discrepancies in their results.

“Candidates are urged to get their statements of results from their school or centre where they wrote the exams. Result queries should be submitted for investigation within 30 days after the release of results,” read a statement from the department.

Additionally, students can apply for re-marking or re-checking of scripts at a fee of R116.00 and R29.00 per subject, respectively. Applications close on January 31, 2025, while results for re-marks will be available on March 14, 2025.

As students and their families brace for the outcome, the department highlighted the importance of correcting personal details on statements of results before February 21, 2025, to avoid future complications.

The Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube, will announce the official results during a public address on January 13.
