The 1983/1985 set of St. Gregory’s College, Ikoyi Old Boys Association, has announced the celebration of its 40th anniversary with a grand dinner event in Lekki, Lagos State.
This was contained in a statement signed by the President of the 1983/1985 set of the association, Mr. Sonny Onyegbula and made available to South-South PUNCH on Tuesday in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
The statement reads, “The St. Gregory’s College Old Boys Association, specifically the graduating sets of 1983-1985, proudly announces the celebration of their 40th graduation anniversary with a special dinner event.
“This commemorative gathering will take place on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Grace Garden Event Centre, Bisola Durosinmi Etti Drive, Lekki Phase 1, by 3:00 p.m.
“This milestone event will be a memorable occasion, bringing together all the 1983-1985 Old Boys, along with their families, friends and other distinguished individuals, to celebrate their enduring bond and collective achievements.
“The event promises to be one filled with nostalgia, recognition, and camaraderie, as attendees reflect on their journey since graduating from St. Gregory’s College, Ikoyi, and the impact the institution has had on their lives and successes.
“The celebration will feature an awards segment, where notable alumni will be recognized for their outstanding contributions and achievements in various fields.
“These awards are a testament to the excellence and values instilled by St. Gregory’s College and also serve as inspiration to both current and future students.
“As part of the old boys’ support towards the growth and sustenance of the college, huge sums of money running into millions of naira was donated towards the construction of a new science laboratory in the college.
“The association also made other remarkable donations towards sports development in the college by donating football jerseys, professional table tennis boards and many more.
The association is never left out of ensuring that the standard of St Gregory’s College remains top through regular support in every area, especially towards academics.
Onyegbula said the 40th-anniversary celebration is not just a chance to reconnect with old friends and reminisce about their formative years, but also to celebrate the values of excellence, leadership, and service that St. Gregory’s College instilled in each of them.
He said the association looks forward to an evening of fun, gratitude and inspiration, whilst honouring those who have made a difference in their community and society.
