The remains of the retired Director of Education in the Kaduna State Ministry of Education, late Elder Jatau Danladi Bako, have been laid to rest at his country home, Samban Gida in Jaba Local Government Area of the state, amidst glowing tributes.
The burial service witnessed a large turnout from well-wishers, friends, and family members of the deceased, who died on March 7, at the age of 75, after a protracted illness.
Bako was survived by his wife and four children, including Capt. Caleb Danladi Bako, who is a philanthropist and the founder of the Caleb Danladi Foundation.
In a tribute at the funeral, the deceased’s wife, Talatu Danladi, described her late husband as a selfless man who was dedicated to the growth and development of everyone around him.
She noted that her husband’s patience, kindness, and generosity inspired her to be a better person.
On his part, the eldest child, Capt. Caleb Danladi Bako said his late father instilled in him values of humility and fairness to all people, regardless of their faith or background.
According to him, “One of the most profound lessons my father taught me was the value of humility and equality.
“He treated everyone with kindness and respect. To him, every human being deserved dignity and compassion,” he added.
Caleb pledged to honour his late father’s memory by upholding his legacy of service to humanity and devotion to God.
“He believed that life’s purpose was found in service, and he exemplified this in every way possible.
“I will continue to carry forward his mission and honour his memory by living a life of service, just as he did,” he said.
On his part, ECWA Kwoi DCC Chairman, Rev. Mathias Haruna remarked that the late Danladi’s commitment to the Church was evident in the numerous leadership roles he played.
He maintained that his selfless contributions to the growth and development of the DCC will never be forgotten.
For Mrs Deborah Usman, a family friend, the deceased would be remembered for his kindness, honesty, and philanthropy.
“For every visit to his home, there was always a takeaway gift, the last of which was a live chicken given to me when I visited,” she stated.
Also speaking, the District Head of Daddu, Bello Shamaki, stressed that Danladi was a beacon of hope for the less privileged and “a true pillar of our community.”
