Unity Bank Plc has trained students in financial literacy. About thirty-one schools across Nigeria participated in the training organised to mark this year’s Global Money Week.

The training was held at Kabayi Secondary School, Mararaba, Nasarawa State on Thursday March 23, 2023.

Speaking about the training, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Unity Bank Plc, Tomi Somefun, stated that the training was aimed at gaining useful insights on wealth creation.

She said, “There is a need to promote financial education among the students.” This training will help inculcate basic principles for financial management in them,” she added. Some of the students were rewarded for their active participation.

Global Money Week is a Child and Youth Financial International initiative observed annually in over 178 countries between March 22 and 28 by corporate organisations globally.

Financial institutions leverage Global Money Week to organise several events and activities to inspire children and youth to learn about money, savings, creating livelihoods, gaining employment, and becoming an entrepreneur.
