UNILAG announces 2023/2024 post-UTME commencement, requirements

University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced the commencement of online registration for the institution’s post-UTME Screening Exercise for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. The registration period will span from Monday, 10th to Friday, 28th July 2023.

This is an opportunity for prospective students to secure admission into various courses and programmes offered by the university.

Eligibility criteria for screening

To be eligible for the screening, candidates must have chosen the University of Lagos as their first choice in the 2023/2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored 200 and above. Additionally, they must possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in relevant O/level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in one sitting.

It is important to note that only candidates who have uploaded their O/Level results on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before 13th August, 2023 will be considered for admission. Candidates who will not reach the age of sixteen (16) by 31st October, 2023 are not eligible to apply.

Important instructions for candidates

The University of Lagos emphasises the significance of participation in the Post-UTME Screening. Candidates who do not take part in the screening process will not be considered for admission. Furthermore, former students whose admissions were withdrawn due to poor academic performance or absence can reapply, provided they choose a new program or course different from their previous one.

However, it is crucial to note that any student who has been expelled from the University will not be offered fresh admission.

Registration process

Eligible candidates are required to visit the University of Lagos website, www.unilag.edu.ng, and follow the registration procedure outlined below:

Click on the “Admissions” tab.
Select “Post-UTME Application.”
Login using their UTME number as the username and their lowercase surname as the password.
Generate and print the payment advice.
Proceed to any commercial bank to make the payment or pay online.
Return to the University portal to complete the screening form.
Finally, candidates should print their Post-UTME Examination Pass.
Online Aptitude Test
The Post-UTME online aptitude test is scheduled to take place from Monday, 31st July to Friday, 4th August, 2023. This test serves as an important component in the admission process and requires candidates’ diligent preparation and participation.

Upholding a Drug-Free Environment
The University of Lagos maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards drug abuse. Any newly admitted student who tests positive for drug use during the University’s testing, conducted either before or after registration, will have their admission withdrawn.
