Kamsiyochukwu Umeh, the highest scorer in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been honoured with a scholarship and appointed as the Young Ambassador for Anchor University, Ayobo, Lagos for the 2022/2023 academic session.
Umeh, a student at Deeper Life High School in Mowe, achieved an outstanding score of 360 in the UTME.
In recognition of her remarkable achievement, Umeh has been granted a full scholarship to pursue any course of her choice at Anchor University.
During a media briefing to announce the commencement of the university’s admission exercise for the 2023/2024 academic session, Prof. Samuel Oye Bandele, the vice-chancellor of Anchor University, expressed pride in Umeh’s accomplishment and acknowledged her embodiment of excellence, which aligns with the values of Deeper Life Bible Church, the university’s proprietor.
In his statement, Bandele proclaimed Umeh as the Anchor University Young Ambassador for the 2022/2023 session.
He also extended his gratitude to Pastor W. F Kumuyi, the university’s Chancellor, Pastor Nkemkika Obina, the BOT Chairman, Prof Steven Odiowe, the Pro-Chancellor of Anchor University, and the entire university community for their support.
Bandele also announced tuition-free scholarships for the top 10 students in the UTME from Deeper Life High School as a testament to their exceptional performance.
He recognised students across Nigeria who participated in the 2023/2024 UTME and achieved a score of 250 and above, assuring them of his appreciation for their dedication to the Nigerian educational system.
The VC also revealed that “the admission process for the next academic session has commenced.”
He emphasised that “Anchor University, as a faith-based institution, would offer Post Graduate Programmes leading to the award of PGD, M.Sc, MBA, and Ph.D degrees in the fields of Computer Science, Microbiology, and Business Administration.”
