Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has emphasized the need for innovative teaching methods to enhance education in the state. Speaking during a visit from Wendy Kopp, CEO of the Teach For All Global Network, at Lagos House, Ikeja, Sanwo-Olu highlighted the critical role education plays in shaping the future.
“Education is the foundation upon which the future is built. Our discussions focused on the role education plays and how innovative teaching approaches can address challenges in access and quality,” he stated.
Teach For All, a global network dedicated to improving educational opportunities, is partnering with Lagos State to introduce transformative teaching methods. Sanwo-Olu underscored the importance of such collaborations, noting that joint efforts are essential for achieving long-term educational goals.
“Our government will work with global leaders in education to ensure every child in Lagos has access to quality learning opportunities,” Sanwo-Olu said, describing the partnership as a significant step towards repositioning Lagos as a leader in educational excellence.
Wendy Kopp echoed these sentiments, praising Lagos’s potential to lead educational reforms in Africa. “Lagos is positioned to lead innovative educational reforms in Africa. We are excited about the opportunities to work together to create a model for others to follow,” she remarked.
Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his vision for Lagos, stating, “Our vision for Lagos is one where no child is left behind. This partnership with Teach For All aligns with that vision, ensuring we can deliver not just education but transformative learning experiences for our children.”
