The Lagos Golden Heart Lions Club has donated ₦5 million to the Paediatric Cancer Ward at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). The donation is aimed at covering medical relief bills for children battling cancer and is part of the club’s community projects for the 2024/2025 Lions Year.

The initiative, themed Healing Hearts, Saving Lives, aligns with the club’s mission to improve healthcare and provide critical support to vulnerable groups.

Speaking on the donation, Lion Taiwo Oladayo Fatoki, District Governor for District 404-B4 Nigeria, said, “Our goal is to ensure that no child fighting cancer is left without access to medical care due to financial constraints. This donation is part of our ongoing commitment to saving lives and giving hope to families in need.”

The presentation ceremony took place on Saturday, within LASUTH premises. Key dignitaries and members of the Lions Club attended the event.

Leading the project alongside Lion Fatoki is Lion Godfrey Ovie Gimoh, President of the Lagos Golden Heart Lions Club for the 2024/2025 service year.

Community members and hospital officials commended the club, noting that the funds will provide relief to families struggling with the cost of cancer treatment.
