A student of Nile University, Abuja, Yusuf Usman Halilu—popularly known as Ayman— lost his life in a car accident along the Umar Musa Yar’Adua Way in the early hours of Friday.

Edugist gathered that the fatal crash occurred shortly after Ayman had dropped off his parents at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The young student, described by those who knew him as vibrant and full of promise, was reportedly driving alone when the accident happened.

Ayman was said to be a relative of Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of former President Muhammadu Buhari. His sudden death has sparked a wave of grief both offline and across social media platforms.

His funeral (janaza) was held at the National Mosque in Abuja, where family, friends, and sympathisers gathered to bid him farewell.

One mourner, Zuwairiyyah Girei, wrote in a heartfelt post, “He was the son of my friend, Bilikisu Mustapha Chiroma.”

Tributes have continued to pour in online, as many express shock over the untimely death of the young student and extend their condolences to his grieving family.
