The Korean Government has announced the opening of the 2025 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for international students seeking undergraduate degrees in South Korea.
This prestigious scholarship offers full funding, including tuition, living stipends, airfare, and accommodation, aimed at fostering educational exchange and enhancing international relations between Korea and participating nations.

Benefit:
Recipients of the Global Korea Scholarship will receive full financial support throughout their studies in Korea. Benefits include round-trip airfare, full tuition coverage, and a monthly living stipend of 900,000 KRW. Additionally, students will receive free accommodation, and they may be eligible for extra funding during language training and research activities. The scholarship is designed to ease the financial burden of international students and to promote mutual friendship and cultural exchange between Korea and participating countries.

Eligibility:
To qualify for the Global Korea Scholarship, applicants must meet several key requirements. They must hold citizenship from one of the countries invited to participate in the GKS program, as designated by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED). Academic requirements include a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.64/4.0 or equivalent, with a minimum score percentile of 80% or ranking in the top 20% of their class. Applicants for undergraduate programs must be under 25 years old, while those seeking graduate degrees must be under 40 years of age. All candidates must be in good mental and physical health to undertake the scholarship program in Korea.

Application process:
The application process for the Global Korea Scholarship can be completed via two tracks: the university track or the embassy track. Depending on the track chosen, submission deadlines and required documents may vary, so it is crucial for applicants to contact the relevant university or Korean embassy in their home country for detailed instructions. This dual-track system provides flexibility for students, allowing them to choose the method that best suits their needs and circumstances. Apply here.

Application deadline: Mid-September 2024 to October 2024.
