Management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have confirmed that there will be no admission into Biochemistry and Petroleum and Gas Engineering departments for the 2023 admission exercise.
This was confirmed in a document obtained by Edugist, signed by the university’s Registrar, Oladejo Azeez, Esq.
The statement in the document further advises aspirants not to apply to Biochemistry or Petroleum and Gas Engineering.
However, those who have applied are encouraged to apply for a change of course to other programmes.
The official statement reads:
“IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
All prospective UTME and Direct Entry candidates for the 2023 admission exercise should please note that the University of Lagos will not run two programmes, namely: Biochemistry and Petroleum & Gas Engineering.
Hence, there will be no admission into the two programmes.
Candidates are hereby advised not to choose any of these two programmes, and those who have done so should change to other programmes.”
The specific details leading to the latest development are unclear. However, one probable cause may be loss of accreditation for the aforementioned programmes.
