In a significant move aimed at revolutionizing STEM education in Nigeria, CASIO Middle East and Africa FZE unveiled the fx-9910NG PLUS 2nd Edition calculator, specially designed to cater to the needs of Nigerian students and educators following their patnership with SKLD Integrated Services.
This announcement came during the CASIO Education Conference 2024 held in Lagos, themed ‘Fostering Innovation and Problem-Solving in the Nigerian Classroom through the Use of Technology.’

Mr Takashi Seimiya, Managing Director of CASIO Middle East and Africa FZE, highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting Nigerian educators and students. Mrs Akinlade Olatomirin, Director of the Education Resource Centre at the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with CASIO. The event culminated in an awards ceremony where Chineye Oforma, Bada AbdulSalam, and Lawal Ismail emerged as the top three winners of the Mathematical Quiz competition. They were awarded cash prizes of N100,000, N250,000, and N500,000 respectively, reinforcing the importance of STEM education and innovative learning tools in Nigeria.
Prominent figures from the Nigerian education sector attended the event, including Mr Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Lagos State, and representatives from the Federal Ministry of Education and WAEC. Their presence underscored the collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors to enhance educational standards through technological advancement.
