The OKPURUGHRE Foundation for Education and Sports Development has begun the distribution of educational materials worth N100 million to schools in Ethiope West in Delta State.
The materials being shared include 70,000 pieces of 80-page notebooks, 70,000 pieces of 60-page notebooks, 30,000 pieces of 40-page notebooks, 40,000 pieces of 2A and 2B exercise books, 20,000 drawing books, 20,000 rulers, 20,000 pens, 20,000 erasers, 20,000 pencils, 20,000 sharpeners, 100 high-quality footballs and 500 sets of jerseys.
The distribution officially began on Thursday in Oghareki area of Delta where the team visited eight schools to kick off the initiative.
According to the foundation’s leadership, Paul Okpurughre, the generous project is being carried out in memory of the late Pa Ufuoma Okpurughre.
They plan to reach all 48 primary schools and select secondary schools in Ethiope West. There are also plans to extend the project to neighboring local government areas in the future.
Every pupil, from kindergarten to primary six, received at least five notebooks, one pencil, one pen, one sharpener, one eraser, and one ruler.
This initiative highlights the foundation’s commitment to improving education and providing the tools children need to succeed in their studies.
