FG approves broadband deployment For UDUS

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the deployment of broadband connection to Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

 

The Director of Management of Information System (MIS), Mallam Ahmad Chafe made it known in a message sent on Tuesday 30th of May 2023 to a WhatsApp platform tagged ‘Blended Learning’, a group created to bring information closer to the university community through the press men of the university.

“This is to inform the University Community that the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy has approved the deployment of Broadband consisting of 80no Wireless Access Points, a couple of inverters with batteries and solar panels, 155MBPS bandwidth capacity,” the message reads in part.

 

Mallam Chafe further said: “We are already in receipt of most of the facilities and the Engineers are on ground to commence deployment by tomorrow, God willing. The details of the scope of the deployment will be known by tomorrow, God willing.”

“Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) is the assigned agency that is going to oversee the successful completion of the project.”
